“Gstarrr”
Nazzy the Mic has been grinding nonstop and released another single on May 27th. This track, “Gstarr,” shows us a different side of her personality and skill set. The self-proclaimed “pain rapper” has historically used her recording sessions to be introspective, but in this song, she is looking ahead towards the future.
Although there are still signature “Nazzy” aspects, this track is more upbeat, and she takes the time to celebrate all her hard work. Firebrand Entertainment hits it out of the park by pairing the vocals with a quick and percussive beat. The production pushes the lyrics along, keeping Nazzy on her toes with really tight rhymes. The instrumental arrangement is minimal, with only a few synths or keyboard chords. The scarce accompaniment keeps the focus entirely on Nazzy’s lyrics.
Lyrically, there Nazzy is having more fun and there are some clever lines. She allows herself to be hopeful and take pride in her success, talking about proving the haters wrong and using her fame to treat her loved ones. Nazzy gives tribute to family and friends that she’s lost, and how she hopes she is making them proud.
Nazzy has had an incredible year, and it’s great to see her appreciating all her hard work. Hopefully Nazzy the Mic can enjoy some time off over her summer break before coming back to wow us all again soon.
