“Hello, James Dean”
Noah Wade recently released his first single, “Hello, James Dean” in anticipation of his debut album coming later this year. The track blends country vibes with an electro-pop feel to create something that sounds sweet without being over the top. The lyrics in “Hello, James Dean” detail the excitement of seeing your love, and the swirling instrumentals help the listener feel enveloped in the emotion. As the chorus kicks in, the harmonies bring a dreamy quality that makes the song feel like it could be in a romcom. These harmonies add layers to the track, and actually bring a sense of innocence that can only be found in young love.
Once Wade hits the bridge, he speeds up his lyrics, and brings on a new sense of intensity, even if only for a few moments. It feels like your heart is racing, simulating the feelings from a summertime date with your partner. There is one more chorus, filled with beautifully layered harmonies, before ending on a flirty sax riff.
Wade is a singer/songwriter and music journalist based in New York. His upcoming album, The Story of James Dean, will be filled with tracks that come straight from his diary. He credits Alanis Morrisette, Lauv, Ariana Grande, James Taylor and Ed Sheeran as his major influences, and that is definitely reflected in his work. I can’t wait to hear what the rest of the album has in store!
