“Sea and Sky”
Nazzy the Mic is back again with a new collaborative single, “Sea and Sky,” released August 5 with label-mate Mizxy Slime. “Sea and Sky” is a love song through and through; filled with romantic lyrics and a laid-back energy. The production of “Sea and Sky” creates a unique mix of hip hop and soul. The fuzzy beats are met with a dreamy synth that swirls through the intro and maintains its presence throughout the rest of the track. It’s a perfect platform for the song, as if the lyrics are floating on a cloud.
This is my first introduction to the Philly-based Mizxy Slime, but I can tell he has a smooth and effortless style. When he raps, it almost sounds like he’s crooning. He expertly combines R&B and hip hop, filling his lyrics with emotion. On “Sea and Sky,” his vibes are softening Nazzy’s typical sound in the best way. The track still shows off Nazzy’s quick and tight rhythm but brings her over to the soulful side. It’s an amazing blend.
Nazzy’s able to show off a different side of her voice in “Sea and Sky.” She can be heard harmonizing throughout the track, adding another layer to her already extensive skill set. This song shows off a more melodic side of Nazzy, proving how much she has grown artistically just in this past year. As she gets more confident in her abilities, she is allowing herself to explore different avenues of expression. Nazzy is original and honest, and you can’t help but root for her.
